The Fendt 1040, 1044, 1048, and 1052 Gen4 models are powered by a 12.4-liter MAN D26 engine, delivering between 400 and 520 horsepower. AGCO's Fendt DynamicPerformance engine management system gives operators the flexibility to dial back power to reduce fuel use or boost it by up to 30 hp as field demands increase.

Coupled with VarioDrive CVT transmission, the Gen4 tractors offer stepless acceleration from 0.01 to 31 mph, dynamic all-wheel drive up to 15 mph, and tight turning with the pull-in turn effect. These features are designed to maximize productivity and minimize compaction with optional VarioGrip tire pressure regulation.

Operator Comfort and Visibility Like Never Before

The Gen4 series introduces a newly redesigned cab focused on comfort and operator ease, including ergonomic foot pegs, a coolbox, and cabin dust extraction system. For premium comfort, operators can opt for a massage seat - turning long field days into less of a grind.

Lighting has also received a serious upgrade. The UltraVision 360° LED lighting system includes up to:

  • Four hood-mounted LED lights

  • 12 LED lights on the roof

  • Six on the A-pillars and fenders

  • Two on both B and C pillars

  • GroundVision rear-focused lighting

"You can turn off certain pods to avoid blinding other operators, and at full power, it lights up a football field," said David Soliday, senior marketing manager for tractors at AGCO.

OutRun Autonomy: Integrated, Not Retroactive

One of the headline innovations is the factory-ready integration of the PTx OutRun autonomous system, making AGCO the first to offer autonomy out-of-the-box in this class. Farmers can now use autonomous features like grain cart alignment during harvest, with autonomous tillage support coming in 2026.

"OutRun is for farmers dealing with labor shortages and seeking timely, accurate operations," said Bryce Baker, tactical marketing lead at Precision Planting. Unlike previous models requiring retrofits, the Gen4 comes autonomy-ready from day one.

Order Window and Market Rollout

The Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 will be available for order starting Q4 2025, with deliveries to begin in early 2026. These machines are poised to meet the needs of modern, data-driven operations that demand both raw power and intelligent automation.
