KUHN Unveils Advanced Baler, Mergers, and Mower Conditioner to Boost Forage Production
KUHN North America introduces three advanced machines to boost forage quality and efficiency-a new baler, mergers, and a mower conditioner-tailored for U.S. producers.
The FB 3125 fixed chamber round baler is compact yet robust, designed for livestock operations, custom balers, and mid-sized farms. Its 18 PowerTrack Roller System enables rapid and uniform bale formation, achieving high bale density-a critical factor in storage efficiency and forage preservation. The heavy-duty bale chamber and low-maintenance build increase productivity and operational lifespan. With Integral Rotor Technology, the baler ensures smoother intake and maintains forage integrity, even in tough or uneven crop conditions. The system integrates with an intuitive VT 30 terminal, providing full in-cab control, real-time machine diagnostics, and automation of binding and bale growth detection.
Replacing the MM 950 and MM 1090 models, the new KUHN Merge Maxx MM 952 and MM 1092 mergers introduce enhanced flexibility and larger working widths of up to 36 feet. They accommodate a variety of windrow management needs, offering up to eight delivery options suitable for a range of crop densities and field shapes. With ISOBUS-enabled controls and a redesigned interface, operators can fine-tune belt direction, pickup speed, and suspension pressure from the cab. The advanced hydropneumatic suspension system ensures smooth terrain adaptation and reduces soil contamination, while the adjustable windguard with a guide roller improves crop flow onto the belt. Additionally, a five tine bar cam-style pickup system with synthetic stripper bands minimizes wear and simplifies maintenance.
The third machine in KUHN's release, the FC 9830 D RA rear-mounted mower conditioner, offers dual functionality as a mower conditioner and windrow merger, capable of handling nearly 32 feet of crop in a single pass when used with a compatible front-mounted unit. This versatility makes it ideal for producers working with haylage, baleage, or dry hay, enabling fewer passes in the field and reduced fuel use. Equipped with Optidisc Elite cutterbar technology, the machine delivers precise cuts and features a slim, through-bolted design that limits wear. The Lift-Control suspension system helps maintain even cutting height, reduce soil pickup, and extend component life. ISOBUS connectivity ensures all adjustments can be made in real time, improving both operator comfort and machine responsiveness.
These new offerings from KUHN arrive at a time when U.S. agriculture faces increasing pressure from volatile commodity prices, rising input costs, and a heightened focus on sustainable agriculture. Machines that reduce field passes, conserve forage quality, and require less maintenance align closely with the needs of both large-scale commercial operations and mid-size family farms.
From a policy and operational standpoint, KUHN's latest equipment helps producers navigate challenges such as fuel costs, labor shortages, and quality assurance requirements. Cleaner forage with higher nutritional value not only improves feed efficiency but also reduces risks related to crop insurance and post-harvest losses. Moreover, equipment like the FC 9830 D RA and MM 1092, which limit soil disturbance and improve windrow consistency, may qualify for USDA conservation incentives and align with evolving federal farm bill priorities.
All three machines are currently available through authorized KUHN dealers across North America. The company continues to build on its legacy as a global leader in agricultural and industrial equipment, delivering tools that drive productivity, protect forage value, and offer farmers greater control over their harvest operations.
