Electric Hydrogen Expands into Latin America with Focus on Green Fertilizer and Industrial Decarbonization
Electric Hydrogen launches in Latin America, bringing its industrial-scale green hydrogen tech to Brazil to boost clean energy and fertilizer production.
Electric Hydrogen, a global leader in industrial-scale electrolyzer systems, has officially entered the Latin American market with a focus on enabling large-scale green hydrogen production for fertilizer, fuels, and heavy industry. The company has appointed Maria Gabriela da Rocha Oliveira as Country Manager, who will spearhead commercial strategies from her base in Brazil.
The company's signature HYPRPlant platform uses proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology and renewable power to produce fossil-free hydrogen at competitive costs. Its modular design allows for quick, local assembly via factory-built skids - a system already selected for projects in the U.S., including a 100 MW deployment in Texas.
With several gigawatt-scale hydrogen projects advancing across the region, Electric Hydrogen sees a timely opportunity to accelerate domestic production in support of green fertilizer, e-fuels, and decarbonization goals. CEO Raffi Garabedian said Latin America's rich renewable energy resources and fertilizer import dependence make it an ideal location for hydrogen growth.
Da Rocha Oliveira, with over 15 years of renewable energy experience, including roles at Shell, First Solar, and Bloomberg New Energy Finance, will drive partnerships and project development. She emphasized the company's mission to make clean hydrogen viable at scale and sees Latin America as a prime testing ground for global energy transformation.
